# Exporting renders from your design software

Verified export steps for Pool Studio, SketchUp, Lumion, and more.

Updated 2026-09-19.

## Export whatever your software already makes

RenderSplash does not need a special file. It takes the still images and, if you have one, the walkthrough your design software already produces. Below are the export steps for the tools pool, hardscape, landscape and deck builders use most, verified against each vendor's own documentation. If your tool is not listed, export the highest-resolution still image and, if your software offers one, an MP4 walkthrough, and upload both the same way.

## Pool Studio, VIP3D, and VizTerra (Structure Studios)

All three share the same interface. For a still: go to the **Presentation Stage** and click **Photo Mode**, frame your view, click **Take Photo** (or press **P**), and choose a resolution from the dropdown before it saves to your screenshots folder. For a video: click **Video Mode**, press **New Camera Location** (or **+**) for each shot you want, set a **Move**, **Hold Position**, **Hard Cut**, or **Fade** between them, choose a **Video Resolution**, and click **Render Video** to save an MP4 to your Project > Videos folder.

## SketchUp

For a still: **File > Export > 2D Graphic**, choose **JPEG** or **PNG** from the Export Type list, click **Options** to set width and height, then **Export**. For a video: create scenes first (**View > Animation**), then export through **File > Export > Animation**, choosing MP4 and a resolution preset (1080p, 720p, or 480p).

## Lumion

Still images render from **Photo Mode**: frame the shot and click the render button on the photo. For a video, build your scenes in **Movie Mode**, then use **Save Movie** for the fastest one-click export of the whole sequence, or **Render Clip** to export one section at a time.

## Vectorworks Landmark

For a still: **File > Export > Export Image File**, choose your render or wireframe preview, pick a format (JPG, TIF, BMP, and others are supported), and click **Save**. For a video: under **Model > Create Animation**, build a walkthrough from a drawn path or from a series of saved views, then export the sequence as an MP4 or AVI file.

## Chief Architect

For a still: with the camera view open, **File > Export > Export Picture (BMP, JPG, PNG)**, set your size in the dialog, click **OK**, then **Save**. For a video: **3D > Walkthroughs > Create Walkthrough Path**, then select the path and click **Record Walkthrough Along Path** (or **3D > Walkthroughs > Record Walkthrough**), where the Record Walkthrough Options dialog lets you choose a video codec.

## Twinmotion

Open the **Export** panel from the Footer. Click the **+** next to **Image** or **Video**, select the media, and click **Start export**. For a flythrough, build the camera path first with the **Sequence** tool in the Media dock, then export it the same way, from the Video list.

## Blender

For a still: **Render > Render Image** (F12), then in that window, **Image > Save As** and choose PNG or JPEG. For a video: in the Output Properties tab, set the file format to **FFmpeg Video**, container **MP4**, codec **H.264**, then **Render > Render Animation** (Ctrl+F12).

## Don't see your software

Export the best still images it can produce, any common format works, and a walkthrough MP4 if it has one. Upload both through the composer and RenderSplash works from there.
