# What to upload and why each file helps

Renders, flythrough, plan, and notes, and what each is for.

Updated 2026-09-19.

## The one required thing: renders

RenderSplash needs at least one rendered still from your design software, JPEG, PNG, or WebP, up to 25 MB each and up to 12 per project. These go in the ingredients row of the composer, the floating bar at the bottom of a project. Tap the **+** tile to add them.

Every finished shot in your video is drawn from one of these stills. More angles give RenderSplash more of the design to work with, so a project with three to six renders from different points of view tends to produce a better result than one with a single frontal shot.

We take the export exactly as your software makes it. There is no required format or resolution beyond the limits above, which is the point: whatever your 3D software already produces is what you upload.

## Two optional files that help

**Flythrough.** If your software exported a walkthrough animation, MP4, MOV, or WebM up to 500 MB, attach it with the **Flythrough** chip. It shows RenderSplash how your camera actually moves through the design, which helps the finished video feel like one continuous space rather than a slideshow of separate stills.

**2D plan.** A PNG, JPG, PDF, or DXF of your plan view, up to 50 MB, attaches with the **2D plan** chip. It gives RenderSplash the shape and layout of the design in a form a single render cannot show, which matters most on an irregular pool shape or a tight lot.

Neither file is required. Add them when you have them; skip them when you do not.

## Real photos of the yard

If you have an actual photo of the customer's yard, upload it the same way you add a render, through the **+** tile. RenderSplash treats it as another still to draw from, which is useful when the existing yard, a fence line, a mature tree, a neighbor's second story, needs to show up in the finished video the way it really looks.

## One note field

**Anything to highlight?** is a single optional line for whatever will not show up in the pictures: a material call-out, a feature the customer asked about, anything worth flagging before the video is made.
