Supported formats and size limits
Renders (required)
- Formats: JPEG, PNG, or WebP
- Size: up to 25 MB per file
- Count: 1 to 12 per project
At least one render is required to make a video. These are the images every shot is drawn from, so add the ones you want the finished video to show.
Flythrough (optional)
- Formats: MP4, MOV, or WebM
- Size: up to 500 MB
- Count: 1 per project
A flythrough is your walkthrough animation, exported from your design software. It is never required, but if you have one, attaching it helps RenderSplash follow how your camera actually moves through the design.
2D plan (optional)
- Formats: PNG, JPG, PDF, or DXF
- Size: up to 50 MB
- Count: 1 per project
A DXF file is accepted even when your computer labels it as a generic file type, which is common. RenderSplash checks the file extension first, so a DXF will go through correctly either way.
If a file is rejected
RenderSplash checks every upload against the limits above before it accepts it, and tells you exactly what was wrong: the wrong file type, a mismatch between the file's extension and its declared type, or a file over the size limit for that kind of upload. The message tells you the limit and the size of your file, so you know what to do next, usually re-exporting at a smaller size or in one of the accepted formats.
Replacing a file
You can only attach one flythrough and one 2D plan per project at a time. To swap either one, remove the existing chip first (the small x next to the filename), then add the new file. Renders work differently: you can add up to 12 and remove any of them individually without touching the rest.
One thing every file shares
Whatever you upload stays private to your project. We do not use your uploads or your finished videos to train models, ours or anyone else's, and everything is kept for 12 months so you can come back to a job, with the option to delete anything yourself sooner.
