Using real photos of the customer's yard
Why a real photo helps
Your 3D render shows the design. A real photo of the customer's yard shows the truth around it: the actual fence line, the mature tree that is not going anywhere, the neighbor's second-story window, the slope of the lot. Mixing the two gives RenderSplash a more grounded picture of the finished job than the render alone, especially when the existing yard is doing a lot of the visual work in the final video.
This is also one of the things that sets RenderSplash apart from a text-prompt AI visualizer. Those tools invent a backyard. RenderSplash works from the yard your customer actually has, and from the design you actually drew and priced for it.
How to add one
There is no separate upload slot for a site photo. Add it exactly the way you add a render: tap the + tile in the composer's ingredients row and pick the photo file, JPEG, PNG, or WebP, up to 25 MB. It counts toward your 12-render limit for the project, alongside your rendered stills.
What makes a useful photo
A phone photo taken standing where the homeowner would stand, at a normal eye height, works better than a wide panoramic shot or a photo taken from a ladder. If you have a few angles of the yard, upload the ones that line up with the render angles you are also using, so RenderSplash can connect what exists today with what the design adds.
Avoid photos with people, pets, or the customer's parked car front and center. RenderSplash is not going to add or remove anything from a photo you upload, it uses the picture as another true reference for the shot, so whatever is in frame is part of the material it draws from.
It is optional
You do not need a site photo to make a video. Plenty of good videos come from renders alone. Add one when the existing yard genuinely matters to how the finished design will read, a tight lot, a steep grade, mature landscaping staying in place, and skip it when the render already tells the whole story.
